Young Writers Workshop

Join other students who are passionate about creative writing. Try your hand at different literary genres, such as poetry, short stories, social memoir and graphic novels. Engage in process writing: Do research, generate ideas, draft, revise and publish to an online blog. Class time will be spent working from writing prompts and reading texts from different genres and authors. For writing inspiration, students may tour campus resources like the Henry Art Gallery and the Burke Museum for inspiration.

Who It’s For

This course is for incoming sixth to eighth graders. It’s not for those who need remedial writing help, and all students should have a high level of English language proficiency.
