Drama Camp: The Wizard of Oz

Calling all actors! Are you ready to jump in, work hard, have fun and shine? Join us for an eight-day drama camp taught by professional actors Angela and Terence Kelley. You’ll learn all aspects of what it takes to put on a show, from auditions and building sets to acting and choreography. Play theater games and put your acting skills through their paces as we rehearse for our full production of the classic The Wizard of Oz!

Who It's For

This camp is for incoming third to sixth graders. Students must be able to attend all rehearsals and the final performance, which will be held Wednesday afternoon, August 29.

A professional actor for more than 30 years, Angela Kelley has worked with youth in theater in many capacities, from Missoula Children's Theatre to Studio East and Seattle Children's Theatre. She’s especially proud of her involvement with Newport Heights Elementary School in Bellevue, where she’s directed large-scale theatrical productions for almost 20 years. She also presents workshops at schools throughout King and Snohomish counties, teaching children about environmental stewardship.

Terence Kelley has been a professional actor and teacher for more than 30 years. He has toured nationally with the Missoula Children's Theatre, where he played such roles as Oz the Great and Powerful in The Wizard of Oz. At Seattle Children's Theatre he played Aslan the Lion in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. He has also performed with the Theatre Black Dog in Snoqualmie and co-directs the theater program with Angela at Newport Heights Elementary School in Bellevue.
