Creativity Lab: Exploring Words, Ideas & Images

Tap into your creativity with this course that combines writing and art. We’ll play games that jolt your imaginations to make surprising and beautiful connections between ideas, words and images. Borrowing techniques from improvisational theater, Dada, Rube Goldberg, the I Ching and OuLiPo, you’ll tinker and play with words and images to communicate, entertain and make magic!

Who It’s For

This course is for incoming sixth to eighth graders.

She is a graduate of California College of the Arts and also learned her craft in studio settings working as an apprentice. Lily has worked throughout Seattle as both an early childhood educator and teaching artist. She is currently a full-time faculty member at Seattle Academy, where she teaches visual art to students in grades 6-12, covering the fundamentals as well as ceramics, fiber arts and 3-D studio arts. “It’s not about learning to draw as much as it is about learning to see, " Lily says.
