Architectural Studies

Instructors: Matthew Fujimoto and Meganne DesRosier

The study of architecture is an exciting multidisciplinary activity that synthesizes design investigation with historical and cultural perspectives, social responsibilities, technical excellence and environmental leadership. Architectural Studies will introduce you to these ideas through a sequence of architectural design prompts. It will provide an opportunity to test the fit of architecture with your future aspirations. Students will investigate design issues through the traditional processes of model making and drawing while also being introduced to the latest software tools. Course material will focus on developing the students' visual representation and verbal presentation skills, concluding with a presentation of their work to guests from the UW Department of Architecture.
